2022 SuperCupNI

Day 1 of this year’s SuperCupNI competition saw success for the young Linfield teams involved:

Minor Section (U13)

Linfield 3 – 1 Larne

3 long range free kicks brought the 3 goals to tell the story of this game. Jay Longridge was first to score inside the first 60 seconds and, following a Larne equaliser it was Rhys Davidson who took over with fine strikes from distance before half time. There were no further goals in the second half.

Youth Section (U14)

Portadown 0-4 Linfield

The 2008s started off like a house on fire with Harry Allen and Ceadach O’Neill scoring from inside the box before an Oliver Wade effort made the score 3-0 at half time. The Portadown goalkeeper saved his side several times before Scott Hamilton scored a fine fourth.

Girls U13

Cliftonville 0-8 Linfield

A comfortable victory for Scott Nesbitt’s young side thanks to a hattrick for Player of the Match Abbie Smyth, a pair each for the Graces (McAllister and Campbell) and 1 from Ruby Adair sees the girls into the final on Tuesday night.
